Today in class we learned about coil and rope. The activity instructed to us was to group up in a circle, with arms around each other and imagine that we were upon a tightrope. The space inside the circle was a deep bottomless void and so was the space outside of it. We had to travel around the circle to assort our names in alphabetical order. I went first.
From my trip along the tightrope i learn how the human body twists and turns to accomodate the tight space and to maintain balance. I clench and grip onto my friend's shoulders in fear of falling off the rope into the dark pit bellow. My body sways to and fro to desperately maintain my balance upon flimsy ropes. I imagine my actions affecting my friends because my motion would cause ripples in the chain, and so my friends might be swaying and struggling in their places too.
For the second half of the class, we had to do improvisation acting with random objects. It started with our hunt for nunerous objects around the block. Me and my partner Qistina found an old wooden board, a brush pole, 2 palm-sized straight wooden sticks, and a flimsy leaf .
Our improvisation story was about a chase between two people. I, who held the leaf and sticks (i attached them together to create a grenade) am being chased by Qistina with her wooden board as a shield and broom stick as a sword. After running and acting scared, i take out my makeshift grenade, bite into the handle, spit it out to the side and threw the grenade body near Qistina's feet. Finally the enemy falls.
